DESCRIPTION:In early September\, the gardens are buzzing with butterflies and bees. This is typically the best time of year to photograph the monarch butterfly! Join professional photographer Don Tredinnick at Wood Lake Nature Center and learn tips and techniques for capturing images of these amazing insects. We will begin with a short introduction prior to heading down the trails. At each stop\, there will be suggestions and assistance with setting up shots. Everyone will get time to experiment at each stop. \nThis program is open to photographers of all ability levels. DESCRIPTION:The biggest event in Richfield!  The Urban Wildland began in 2003 to save Wood Lake Nature Center’s environmental education partnership with the Richfield Public Schools\, which was in jeopardy due to cuts in local government aid. Thanks to the Urban Wildland\, the program was spared and has continued every year with the proceeds from this event. \nThe course winds through shaded residential neighborhoods\, natural areas (including Wood Lake Nature Center)\, and neighborhood parks. DESCRIPTION:Blue Groove is a multiple award-winning bluegrass band based in the Twin Cities that plays both contemporary and classic bluegrass tunes with a creative approach that drives\, while still maintaining a sense of laid-back\, Midwestern chill. That’s what they mean by “groove.” The band’s inviting sound combined with their openness and warmth on and off-stage have made them crowd favorites at festivals and concert venues all around Minnesota and the Upper Midwest.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe band covers a number of past and current contemporary bluegrass artists\, and presents a few originals as well. A Blue Groove show features songs from Alison Krauss or Rhonda Vincent as well as traditional bluegrass (Bill Monroe\, Flatt & Scruggs) with all of its drive\, improvisation and harmony singing!
