DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Bock Poking Party on the Pizza Lucé patio\, with the help of our friends from Schell’s Brewing! \nBeer poking involves heating a metal poker in a fire until it’s glowing red\, and then plunging the tip into a glass of beer for a few seconds. The poker flash heats and instantly caramelizes the residual malt sugars abundant in certain types of beer. The result is variously described as adding smoky\, roasted\, smooth\, soft\, creamy\, or toasted marshmallow notes to the flavor profile of your brew. The hot poker also creates a foam cap on the top of a glass of beer\, but it isn’t kept in the glass long enough to make the beer warm. \nThis is a centuries-old tradition popular in colder climates. In partnership with amazing Minnesota companies and individuals\, we want to pack 10\,000 healthy meals at MATTERbox Madness for kids and families this summer\, and show each one that they matter. \nMATTERbox Madness is back for the 10th annual packing competition! Top companies in the Twin Cities will compete against each other in a meal-packing challenge at the Mall of America in the Huntington Bank Rotunda! Join us in providing healthy food for kids this summer!
