SUMMARY:Self-Guided Storybook Trail: Mushroom Rain
DESCRIPTION:Discover the wonders of nature on our enchanting Self-Guided Storybook Trail\, an experience that invites you to embark on a leisurely stroll through the captivating woodland scenery while you follow along with a book whose pages are posted along the way! Read/walk at your own pace\, immersing yourself in the tranquil sights and soothing sounds of the natural world…and when you get to the end of the story/trail\, take advantage of Wood Lake’s special nature play area. \nToday’s book is Mushroom Rain by Laura K. Zimmermann. What can smell like bubble gum\, glow neon green at night\, be poisonous and yet still eaten by humans\, and even help create rain? The answer is mushrooms! From their hidden networks underground to the fruiting body above\, mushrooms can do incredible things. But don’t call them plants–mushrooms are fungi. They’re more closely related to animals like you! Through lyrical text and colorful\, detailed artwork\, the wonderful\, mysterious\, and sometimes bizarre world of mushrooms is explored. \nThe book is posted along the trail from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  This event will be repeated on November 18 with a different book.
