It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over – but in a few short weeks fall will officially be in full swing. When the leaves start falling and the pumpkin spice lattes start appearing, enjoy Richfield in all its autumnal glory. As your gateway to the Twin Cities, there are so many local activities perfect for crisper weather.

This weekend, try these fun fall activities with friends, a significant other or the whole family.

Richfield Farmers Market

What better way to start the day than with fresh, healthy food? The Richfield Farmers Market meets every Saturday from 7:00 am – Noon at the Veterans Memorial Park Shelter and features local vendors. Most vendors accept cash and check, as well as Visa/MC/Discover, as well as SNAP/EBT cards, Market Bucks (issued by Hunger Solutions MN), WIC, and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers.

Penn Fest

Sometimes, Penn Avenue in Richfield is fairly quiet, and sometimes it’s bumper-to-bumper with cars, but neither will be the case on Sunday, September 17 from Noon to 4:00 pm. That’s when Open Streets at Penn Fest happens. On that day, Penn Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic and cars will be replaced with fun activities like music, dancing, crafts, sports, kids entertainment and more! People are welcome to ride bicycles or stroll down the avenue to enjoy the street without motorized vehicles to contend with. Businesses along Penn Avenue will be showcased and will be a part of the fun!

Wheel Fun Pumpkin Patch

It’s that special time of year again – when Wheel Fun Rentals rolls out their fall goodies in time for October. Enjoy hayrides, bouncy castles and pumpkin patch all with delicious seasonal treats.
